The German two-masted, 366-ton steel schooner-yacht, originally christened Germania, was built in 1908. She was fast in the water and was therefore employed as a racing yacht before being seized as a prize of war in 1914. The yacht, renamed Half Moon, then made her way down to Miami where she was used as a floating cabaret until the vessel sank in the early 1930s.
